Who Are These "Birds in the Belfry"?
WELCOME to "Birds in the Belfry". In case you don't know the two birds, let us fill you in. Long time writers and participants on The Orioles Hangout (the most read fan-run website on the Orioles), Bob Bryant and Kerry Leibowitz struck out on their own nine seasons ago, to do something a little bit different. There are several more "comprehensive" Orioles' and baseball sites around. Some feature the minors, some are general sites with game reports, etc., perhaps some stats and analysis.
And Now for Something Completely Different...
We offer something different...something that a fan that already knows a lot about the game, or WANTS to know a lot about the game, will enjoy. No constant organizational bashing (we leave that to the regular print media and most of the knee-jerk "fan" personalities around town), and no closed minds.
What DO we have, then? Just thoughtful, well-written articles...analytical, whimsical, sentimental, sometimes just plain goofy...but hopefully always engaging. Kerry's Annual Piņata Award and the Ally McBeal Award... And, of course, what fan site would be complete without a chat board (please read the guidelines before posting)?
NOTE: It's been noted that when you save us to your favorite places, it reads "index". You can usually change the notation manually by right-clicking on the "index" to change it to "Birds in the Belfry" with an edit function.
This is a work in progress, and your feedback will mean a lot in the ongoing development of what we do here...and participation in any aspect of this is welcome, from feedback, to chat participation, to maybe even some "freelance" articles. HOW TO GET AROUND: This is an article driven site; there are usually at least two new articles a week. Our latest articles are easy...they are listed at the top right. Just click on the article. Older articles can be picked up in the individual archive buttons for Kerry and Bob; the entry into the message/chat area is also on the button menu, as well; some of the lesser used information departments are on the menu board on the left.
