| Travis Driskill pitched well in Ottawa, and when the O's
bullpen became depleted due to the injury to Willis Roberts and the move of
Pat Hentgen to the rotation, it was Travis who came back to pitch some long
relief for the Orioles. He pitched pretty much the same this time...a little better control, he got hit a little bit harder, struck out a few more guys, but basically, he was the same, a marginal reliever you use as a long man or in games that really don't matter at that point. A nice guy, a great story, and, who knows? Perhaps a pitcher who will get yet another taste of ML living in 2004. We wish him all luck in the Rockies organization, although someone who gives up a home run every 6 innings might have wished for a different home. NOTES: Travis pitched to six batters with the bases loaded, and gave up hits to four of them...opposing hitters batted .420 with runners in scoring position...surrendered a .522 BA to #4 hitters...had a 3.18 ERA at Camden Yards, where opposing hitters only hit .224. |
